The ownership of and responsibility for Waste Pipes, Drains and Sewers varies from system to system. Our methods can be used for Renewing the entire Waste Pipe system from the Gully in the Bathroom to the local Sewer Authority’s Sewage treatment plant.

Different parts of the system require different products and methods. The following is a brief explanation of the Waste Pipe, Drain and Sewer Line Renewal methods we use every day.

The numbers shown below correspond with the numbers in the illustration.
  1. Municipal Drains and Sewers

    Renewal of Municipal Drains and Sewers with polyester hardened sleeves up to 1400 mm in diameter, a thickness of up to 50 mm and lengths of up to 250 meters at a time.

    This means we can complete a new drainage system in just one day!

    Branches and connections to each Building are made using a Pipe navigating robot. Connections between Municipal and private Drains are then sealed.

  2. Private Drains/Building Connections The home owner is responsible for Drains leading all the way to the Public Sewer system, even if the Drain extends beyond the Property boundary.

    These Drains are Renewed with an epoxy saturated Lining in the same way as Municipal Drains are renewed, only on a smaller scale. We can Renew complete lengths of up to 250 meters per day.

    Connections and branches are opened by a Pipe navigating robot and sealed using an internal Lining.

  3. Internal Waste Stacks and Roof Vents

    Vertical Waste stacks and roof vents run through the entire Building.

    These are Renewed using epoxy saturated Linings, one stretch at a time.

    Connections and Branches to Water Closets, Bathrooms and Kitchens are opened by a Pipe navigating robot and sealed using an internal Lining.

  4. Branch Pipes to Water Closets, Bathrooms and Kitchens (Horizontal Waste Pipes)

    From the vertical stacks to Water Closets, Bathrooms and Kitchens, horizontal branch Pipes are Renewed using epoxy saturated sleeves or a 2 component polyester Lining sprayed on in 3 layers. This is done after thoroughly Cleaning and rubbing the internal Pipe surface. The choice of which method to use depends on the condition of existing Pipes, what the Pipes are made of and accessibility to the Pipes. After our Inspection we will recommend which method to use in order to achieve the Best end result.

    Connections and branches are opened by a Pipe Navigating robot and sealed using an internal Lining.

  5. Renovation of Gullies

    Existing Gullies are rubbed and Cleaned before applying polyester Lining in 3 layers. The Water trap is then bored out and fitted with a new and easily accessible plug.

    We can further improve the Gully by fitting a new Liner for future Bathroom Renovations and bringing the Wet Room up to Building Code.
